The indigenous Lagrein grape produces Alto Adige's most intense, powerful reds. Known for its deep color and smooth tannins, Ertse & Neue ages their Lagrein mainly in concrete, allowing the grape's vibrant fruit and herbal notes to take center stage. A smaller percentage of the aging is spent in oak casks giving this wine an extra level of complexity. It features a deep, dark red hue with aromas of ripe plums and blackberries, complemented by hints of chocolate and coffee. It is bold and full-bodied, with smooth, balanced tannins and a long, lingering finish.
