This is a Chilean pinot noir that arose from a mixture of limestone and volcanic soil. Warm days ripened it to perfection, while cool breezes sweeping down the Andes kept it from overheating. As a result, it’s a bright, juicy red fruit tempered by a soft earthy mouthfeel. Maivino seeks to make great wines more accessible by abiding by the following tenets: great wines can come from anywhere, and wine traditions that are worth keeping are ones that benefit either the drinker, the earth, or the wine. All Maivino wines are vegan and come in a 1.5-liter airtight bagnum (the equivalent of two bottles), which reduces the carbon footprint by 80% and keeps the wine fresh for 30 days after the first glass.
