This wine comes from a 1-hectare parcel just below the Granger house in the village of Les Poupets, where the vines, averaging 50 years in age, grow in clay-rich soils. The wine undergoes long macerations with native yeasts and matures in foudres and demi-muids, allowing it to express its Beaujolais origins and age gracefully, uncommon in a region dominated by Beaujolais-Nouveau. Half of the fruit is fermented whole-cluster, producing a classic Juliénas expression with vibrant, spicy aromatics and rich, fleshy Gamay fruit. While structured for aging, it's also delicious in its youth, pairing well with a variety of dishes.
