This expressive Red Blend brings together old-vine Carignane from the dry-farmed, organically tended Chapman Vineyard in Mendocino, and heritage Zinfandel from the Porter Bass Vineyard in the Russian River Valley renowned for its regenerative, organic farming practices. The Carignane vines are over 40 years old, while the Zinfandel was planted in 1980 using cuttings from a historic 1915 block. Naturally fermented with native yeasts and aged in neutral French oak, the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered, with only a touch of sulfur added at bottling. The result is a bright, juicy red with mouthwatering acidity and layers of both dark and red fruit, it is vibrant, honest, and full of character.
